So what am I reading at this moment?

Lord of Chaos – book 6 from the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.

My goodness, from all the previous books of the series, this one is taking a very long time to go through. I’m barely halfway through the book and it’s been almost a month since I started it! It’s not that I’m not enjoying the story itself, it’s just taking a lot of time for things to pick up. Not much is going on as far as the plots, and it’s not motivating me to keep reading as much as I would have liked. I will finish it of course. That goes without saying. I’m already invested in the characters and the story as a whole, but goodness me, something better happen soon!

I haven’t updated this blog in a few years. I have actually forgotten about it till last night. It suddenly came to me that I had never deleted the blog and it was still online. So, here I am once again. Ready to blab about the books I’ve read , books I want to read, and those I would never read again. Ever.

I finished The Nasty Bits by Bourdain. It was an entertaining read, however like with most short stories and articles, I feel I am left needing more.

Finished with Atonement. Loved how the story was narrated in 4 different parts and therefore points of views. I don’t know how that would be captured in film.

Still alive and reading, although my arms aren’t as pleased with the size of this book.

I am enjoying the story quite a bit. I love how Tolstoy goes deep into his characters and their stories without really “judging” them. Take Pierre’s drunken party fiasco. Society judged him, but Tolstoy didn’t. Actually, a few pages later, he made you almost feel pity for poor Pierre when his closest family members where shunning him. I like how Tolstoy lets you come up with your own conclusions on the characters.

The sheer amount of characters is still intimidating though!

Oh my goodness. I’ve only read about 100 pages and I’m already lost with all the different characters. There’s a new character every other paragraph.

So far, so good. Tolstoy’s writing is less tedious than Dostoevsky’s which allows me to submerge myself in the story without frowning too much. It makes me believe that even though the book is a big one, it won’t be a dense reading compared to Dostoevsky.
